No, no doll your sketches are fine. Glad you're not drawing with your hurt hand, I was worried you might be applying unnecessary strain. Anyway, I just wanted to see something original in order to tell if perhaps your original style was leaking into your ZIM art. This happens frequently for most people, even me. If you don't want to, that's fine. I'm no admin I think your major fault lies the lack of depth as I've stated before. I'll just leave it at that since you're only wanting to do general character design. That's nothing time and practice won't fix though. Don't rush yourself, you're doing fine.

While she thinks that your problem is with depth, I think that your problem is with movement. Your drawings look like they are of wooden people. They don't look like they are moving - they are like statues. There needs to be a flow in the way the body is positioned, so that it looks like it can actually stand that way. Also, you need to have varied poses and angles. Just about every drawing up there is angled exactly the same and posed almost exactly the same. And as far as the "your own style thrown in" thing....I see it too. The faces don't look very Zimmish at all. You can always draw a pouting lower lip sticking out, which is signature to Jhonen, but that mean that your drawings actually look like they are his "style". The cowman on the far right is the most obvious - his mouth isn't at all like a Jhonen shape. Keep in mind that Jhonen is a very technical artist. He draws with lots of straight lines and polygonal shapes. The mouths rarely curve, if ever. Having a > face is incorrect, because the "O" isn't something Jhonen would draw. Get it? :3 Also, you could use a bit more practice in general cartooning art (which also encompasses the "posing" critique). I recommend watching anime to see how they draw the people. Japanese anime has the best anatomy and movement flow in all cartoons, and is the most artistically correct. They will have pictures of all characters from all angles. You need to know how to draw with the camera under the character's face, over his head, from behind....so on. ~~B3N

Thank you I'll try again , the funny thing is that most of what I draw is Anime lol. I'll post some more pictures with different angles as soon as possible. Thank you for looking over it!

hey hey hey ......................................... I took what you said and tried to do better even though I was kind of lost on what to do , yey love when that happens. I deiced to redraw the cow costume girl who i named Bell , but people call her cow bell ha ha. I gave her more emotions and drew her from different angles without the sign. I placed the sign at the bottom of the picture. Yes I relize that I did not draw her with her arm down but I see her as only appaering with it up and a sign in it. I hope this helps me to become staff!!!!!! I really would love to be staff !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok here is the picture , oh and it has color coordinations sense I can not color. Please tell me if this is OK I'm really trying to do better!! And i'm not realy all that sure on how to get movement into my pictures, can I have some tips if there is any?
